| EXTRA! EXTRA! |
| Success College and 3 Military Police Unit of Halifax are pleased to announce a Statement of Understanding between the two organizations. This statement will allow for Correctional Worker and Policing Foundations students attending Success College to join the Military Reserves as Military Police Officers while they are studying at Success. Upon completion of the program, reservists will finish basic training with the Canadian Forces, to become full members of the Canadian Forces Military Police. |
 |
Prior to the signing ceremony, Major Ethier and Sargent Major Ramsay took time to speak with the current students in the Correctional Worker and Policing Foundations class. Major Ethier spoke to students about pursuing excellence in policing and becoming a symbol of the law while in uniform. Sargent Major Ramsay enthusiastically detailed to the audience what former graduates of Success College were doing as Military Police Officers in the field and all of the many roles that Military Police Officers play in the Canadian Forces.
The statement was signed on October 21, 2009 in a relaxed ceremony by Major Ethier, Commander of the 3 Military Police Unit, and Mrs. Shelley Robinson, Principal of Success College. |
 |
After the ceremony was finished, the students and members of the 3 Military Police Unit refreshed themselves with cake and coffee. Students used this opportunity to speak with the Officers in a more casual setting, about the Forces, the lifestyle and the demands upon Police Officers at large. We wrapped up with some group photos.
